Become a Commcercial Diver

To become a commercial diver, you must have passed a basic work diving course. We focus strongly on safety in our courses. Pupils who train to become commercial divers with us will be enabled to work underwater in a safe and responsible manner - both for themselves and for their colleagues.

The course authorises diving to 50 metres with surface-supplied equipment or to 39 metres with self-supplied equipment.

Surface-supplied equipment means that you get air from a compressor on the surface. Self-supplied equipment, known as SCUBA, means that you have a cylinder on your back with your supply of breathing gas.

The commercial diving course consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The purpose of the first and theoretical part of the course is to give pupils a grounding in diving medicine, diving physics, decompression tables, seamanship, underwater work and diving risks.

The practical part is the actual diving. The students get to spend a lot of hours underneath water and learns how to use different equipments.

Requirements
There is no requirement that you must have dived before starting the course. It is however an advantage to know that you are comfortable underwater before training as a diver.

Equipment
Essentially, the school has all the equipment needed for the course. You must have your own ABC equipment (flippers, diving mask and snorkel) and a warm undersuit to wear under the dry suit.
