The NYD Part 1 Offshore Diver Course The NYD Part 1 course is internationally recognized. This course represents an entrance to the growing diving business. It is an intensive full time course of a duration of 16 weeks. There are 3 courses each year, beginning in March, August and November. The NYD Part 1 course students have in average 50 dives each during the course.
The training includes various diving methods such as SCUBA diving to 30 meters, surface oriented diving down to 50 meters, surface decompression, chamber operation, open bell (wet bell), closed bell (TUP), use of hot water suits, band masks, demand and free flow helmets with open neck seal to dry suits and standard heavy gear.
Included in the course are also introduction to and basic training in various types of underwater work methods, rigging, insepction, salvage and construction using pneumatic and hydraulic driven power tools. The students also take part in planning, hazard analysis, supervising, use of written diving procedures, emergency procedures, daily routines etc.
NYD offers its students an up to date practical and efficient training. The students also receive classroom teaching and must prove their skills in theoretical and practical subjects; such as diving physics, equipment and diving plant, seamanship, communication, underwater tasks, underwater hazards, chamber operations, decompression, legislations, first aid and diving medicine.
TUP - TRANSFER UNDER PRESSURE
We are proud to announce that NYD is the only diving school in the world that offers TUP training in the Part 1 course. From 2009 NYD has implemented this diving method into the Part 1 course as one of the mandatory elements. The TUP method is an alternative to today's surface decompression. The method reduces the divers' health risk and improve the companies' health and safety profile. In manned surface oriented deep air diving operations down to 50 meters the TUP method improves safety and efficiency. At NYD's modern offshore training facilities the Part 1 students are trained in using closed bell to transport the divers under pressure from the job to the surface chamber for decompression. They participate in bell handling, lock outs, emergency training, procedures etc.
WHERE ARE THE PART 1 CERTIFICATES VALID?
